Classic Tournaments Director
Welcome to the 2023 tournament season! This year, we are pleased to offer multiple tournaments. We will be offering the extremely popular SSC once again, but we will also be offering the following tournaments for the 2021 season:
Some additional notes regarding the above tournaments:
We NEVER collect a gate fee as an organization. Our Steel Valley Classic does have a parking fee, and that all goes back to Field of Dreams to subsidize maintenance costs for their facility. Other than that, we feel that parents, siblings, relatives, and friends should be able to watch your kids play for free.
All of us are well aware by now of the umpire shortage that is an issue not only in Northeast Ohio, but all over. Despite these challenges, 100% of our games age 9U and above had two umpires last year. We are committed to that same standard this year.
With the exception of game balls for pool play, our registration fees are all encompassing...that includes umpire fees. Teams that play great baseball should be rewarded with free baseball; that's our belief!
We will once again be working out deals with teams who register for more than one Classic Tournament...new this year, we will also be offering discounts for organizations as well, if you play in the same tournament!
The discounts are as follows if you enter more than one tournament, or if you have multiple teams enter the same tournament (entry fees must be paid together in order for discount to apply):
14U- $425 for Streetsboro & Steel Valley Classic; $675 for Comet Classic
Be sure to check out the individual pages on the links to the left. All of these tournaments will continue to be some of the most affordable around, and give you excellent communication, friendly facilities, the best youth umpiring associations, and a "team-centered" schedule. Please be sure to check out the comments below to see what our coaches and families are saying about our tournaments!
Please note that despite hosting on the website, Classic Tournaments are not directly affiliated with Stampede Baseball. Classic Tournaments are a separate entity.
"It was such a breath of fresh air playing in the CLE Summer Classic. With so many of these tournaments, it's all about making money, and the effort you get from directors is half-hearted. With you guys, you always take teams into account and doing whatever it takes. We will definitely be back next year."
"This is the first tournament I've ever been to where, not only was there a game plan in place for rain, but it was communicated to teams the day before. Your preparation and effort this weekend was second to none."
"I have to say everything you and your father and anyone involved in this tournament were first class. Fields, excellent, communication, and umpires etc. nice job Brett and hope to be a part of it in the future. Nice job guys!"
"I wanted to let you know that I thought you did a great job handling the rescheduling for the weekend. Not much else you could do and the communication was timely. Great job and good luck this season."
"Great tournament! Thank you for having us. For how much rain we received after the Friday night games, the fields were in excellent shape for Saturday. My teams and parents enjoyed it very much and are already asking if we play again next year, if you'll have us back. Thanks again!"
"Our players and parents all commented on how convenient and clean the facilities were not to mention the efficient manner in which the overall tournament was run. The fields were in nice shape, the umpires were outstanding (only missing a call here and there (: ) and game times were strictly held. Kudos to you and your ‘team’ that worked and organized the Solon Spring Classic. I will highly recommend to other coaches."
"Thanks for a great tournament. The communication was excellent & to me that is most important when participating in a tournament."
"Just wanted to say thanks for the great communication all weekend. Tournament was well run as was advertised and we will certainly look to bring our teams back in the future."
